What We Offer As an Operating Room Assistant at Novant Health's Matthews Medical Center, you'll be trusted to support the needs of the surgical team to ensure the patient and the rooms are ready for surgery. You will assist with safe patient handling, preparation, and maintenance of the surgical environment. From routine surgeries to complex cases, your support will help drive safe, compassionate care where it matters most. What makes this unit stand out Fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a strong culture of accountability and support Opportunities to broaden your clinical and grow your career in healthcare Backed by Novant Health's commitment to innovation, inclusion, and advancement What You'll Do Review assignment with the nurse to receive direction for priority of work according to patient needs Assist with turnover of the operating room in a timely, efficient manner Gather supplies / instruments / equipment pertinent to the scheduled procedure Restock operating rooms, solutions and warmers Assist with the transportation, transfer, preparation, and positioning of patients Perform pre-operative clip preps Secure patient in proper position for administration of regional anesthetics and surgical prep What We're Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Experience : One year experience, required. Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing.
