Our Electronics Technicians are essential in installing, programming, maintaining, and repairing these complex systems in high-security environments, ensuring compliance with codes, client specifications, and internal standards. With a structured career path, technicians have continuous opportunities for skills development, advancing from foundational technical expertise to leadership roles.

The Security Systems Technician II can operate independently, bringing several years of experience to the field with the ability to perform installations, maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, lead smaller projects, and assist in training junior technicians. Technicians at this level are expected to have an intermediate understanding of security systems and networking fundamentals, demonstrate critical problem-solving skills and take on additional responsibilities in project tasks and client engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • System Installation & Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain complex security system components and infrastructure with minimal supervision, ensuring that systems function according to design specifications.
  • Technical Tasks: Perform complex troubleshooting and diagnostics, including advanced programming and system integration tasks, independently and collaboratively resolving complex issues on-site.
  • Training & Mentorship: Lead installations and support junior technicians by providing guidance, technical training, and supervising their fieldwork to ensure quality standards.
  • Customer Engagement: Interface directly with clients on-site, offering operational training, fielding questions, and ensuring satisfaction with services provided.
  • Documentation: Complete required job documentation and ensure compliance with industry and internal standards such as ISO-9001, CMMI II, and DCAA.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Skills: Graduate; ability to work in a team environment; completion of at least two industry-recognized certifications.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in electronic security, with knowledge of government and independent certification requirements.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with compliance standards and certifications, network concepts, and industry best practices. Commitment to continuing education.
  • Travel Ability: Ability to travel to projects and stay overnight for varying lengths of time preferred but not required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • The role demands a high level of professionalism, adaptability, and organizational skills. Technicians must handle prolonged tasks, ability to handle up to 50 pounds, ability to work at heights, and work in diverse environments. This role may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and requires adherence to safety protocols. The position requires maintaining company-issued tools and equipment.

General Requirements for All Levels:

  • Communication: Strong oral and written skills to interact with peers, supervisors, and clients.
  • Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented, capable of diagnosing and solving problems.
  • Screening Requirements: Candidates must pass a background check, have a valid driver's license, and be eligible for U.S. Government Security Clearance.
